I’m sorry for not loving you. For looking in the mirror and wanting to change everything about you. For starving you and for overfeeding you. For inflicting wounds on you. For trying to end your story so soon. For the hateful things I say to you when you’re sad. For the pain I cause you when you’re mad. For calling you a mistake. For putting you in harm’s way. For believing you deserved to be abused. For allowing people to take advantage of you. For your assault and making you feel like you deserved it. For not allowing you to follow your dreams, and most importantly, I’m sorry for not letting you become the person you truly want to be. You are an extraordinary human being with so much potential. You are full of light and love. You make the people around you feel special. You are enough; you’re more than enough. I will remember this in our moments of weakness and insecurity. I promise you are worth it.
Sincerely,
A version of us that’s working endlessly on loving you.
